Our Commitment to French Language Services

Our Commitment to French Language Services

The Children’s Aid Society of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry proudly offers French Language Services (FLS) to Francophone children, youth, and families.

Receiving services in French is a legislated right guaranteed by the French Language Services Act (1990) and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (2017). Ontario’s Francophone community—more than 620,000 strong—plays a vital role in shaping our province, and CAS SDG is committed to providing equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive services in both official languages.

We deliver French-language services through bilingual staff, interpreters, and translators. Our FLS commitment aligns with our broader Equity and Inclusion Strategy, including One Vision One Voice, LGBT2SQ+ Inclusion, our 360° Organizational Equity and Inclusion Plan, and our ongoing Truth and Reconciliation commitments.

Language is more than communication—it is connection, belonging, and identity. Offering services in French ensures that Francophone children, youth, and families receive equitable access and culturally safe support across SDG.
