The Children’s Aid Society of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry takes the confidentiality of its records very seriously. However, there are some circumstances where the Society may have to disclose information. Disclosure may happen following a court order, a summons or subpoena or in the course of child protection proceedings.
People who make a referral to the Society will be asked if they agree to their identity being released and they can say no. However, if the Society takes a matter to court, the identity of the referral source most likely will have to be disclosed.
Our assessments and ongoing services to children, youth and families in our community are confidential. Therefore, we cannot provide the referral source with any information about our involvement after receipt of the referral.
